Noirvember
“Noirvember” is a month-long celebration each November dedicated to the film noir genre.
Originating in the classic Hollywood era of the 1940s and ’50s, film noir is known for its gritty, dark, and morally complex stories, often featuring private detectives, anti-heroes, femme fatales, and shadowy cityscapes.
Of course, here at Screaming Eye Press, our Noirvember is all about stories, comics, reviews and more. “Noir Media”? Is that a thing? Well, it is now.
Started in 2010 by Marya E. Gates, a film critic and writer, Noirvember has grown with tons of folks watching and sharing their experiences with classic noir films. Common film examples include iconic movies like Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon, Sunset Boulevard, The Big Sleep, and Out of the Past, as well as neo-noir titles like Chinatown, Blade Runner, and L.A. Confidential.
